Eye Examinations

Regularly-scheduled eye exams are an integral part of good healthcare. The earlier a potential problem is diagnosed, the better the outcome of treatment. At Trafalgar Ridge, our eye examinations are designed to be a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of the visual system and overall eye health. This involves technology to evaluate spectacle and contact lens prescriptions, intraocular pressure, presence of cataract or glaucoma, and general eye health.

At Trafalgar Ridge Optometry, we use a biomicroscope to check for cataract, dry eye, ocular allergies, macular degeneration, and blood-vessels and retinal problems due to certain systemic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and certain neurological conditions.

We may require to instill dilating eye drops to allow us to get a better view of the retina by opening the pupil. Other tests include depth perception (3-D vision), colour vision assessment, muscle balance of the eyes, and digital retinal imaging which allows us to see changes in your retina rom visit to visit! Your final treatment will be a result of information gathered from your symptoms, our findings, and your visual requirements. This may involve eyeglasses, contact lenses, laser surgery, or referral to another specialist.

Our doctors also co-manage laser surgery and will be able to direct you to the laser centres that have produced amazing results for many of our patients. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions regarding laser surgery.

Our goal at Trafalgar Ridge Optometry is to provide quality eyecare with outstanding individualized service to all our patients.
